Introductions
The process of starting this writing group has caused me to reflect on my father, and the fact that throughout his life, he maintained that independence and self-governance were the most important character traits that a man could cultivate and preserve for himself. While I would eventually realize that the cost of his convictions was beyond what I myself would pay for my own independence, I do sympathize with his philosophy, overall.
In the end, I must accept the aspects of my personality that are most like those my father possessed; yet, I do not have to surrender to them. I want to create an environment for myself and those who work with me which fosters and promotes self-reliance and freedom, but not at the cost of integrity. I want to inspire honesty, but not an unhinged and merciless pursuit of facts without regard for the complexity of human interactions. To be good arbiters and stewards of truth, we must also be wise with our words, and conscious of social dynamics.
Our content is a reflection of a philosophy that has taken me most of my life to understand, and I work every day to refine it into the most actionable and practical operational model that my capabilities allow.
Welcome to the Lucasian Group, what can our philosophy do for you?
